There's a chance that some of our misfortune was merely due to weather, but I still think the overall experience was low quality and over priced.
The ticketing was really confusing upon arrival, and there were no crew members to greet us until the boat took off. Also, this isn't a wine tasting cruise. There are children and families on the cruise and some people are drinking wine. The screaming children really ruin the atmosphere. It's basically like flying in the back of an airplane, just on the water. Screaming kids, elbowing the stranger next to you, etc. I imagine this could be more fun in the summer when the boat isn't packed and freezing, but this wasn't a great experience.
It's basically a family tour of the lake where some people drink wine. I think it's overpriced for the low quality of the experience. Response from Cloud 9 Living. Weather can always be a tricky thing to deal with when out on the water. Cooler weather can be unpredictable and can lead everyone into the warmth of the interior of the vessel, making for less space.
Regardless, we totally understand how frustrating it can be when you're crammed into a smaller space than anticipated. We spoke with our cruise partners and they did let us know that the crew may not have been outside due to being short-staffed and the inclement weather. They also let us know that it is their policy to always have a crew member available to assist with boarding, and apologize if this was not the case on the day of your cruise.
Our cruise partners also informed us that when weather is less than superb, they aim to lessen the number of people aboard each vessel in order to provide for more space in the enclosed area. As it is early in the summer, they felt they reacted to the weather a bit too late, and were unable to take such measures to prevent overcrowding. We know this doesn't change the fact that children were screaming, but we can safely assume that more room to roam would have made for a bit more calm with all passengers! Any wine-tasting experience most certainly would have been more enjoyable with more space to savor the views and the wine!

Best, Kelsey. What an awesome experience! Matt was the perfect tour guide - very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and fun - he introduced us to places in Pike Place Market that we had never seen and exposed us to the wonderful treats of Seattle - An absolutely lovely walking tour. Hi Sandy, That's wonderful! I'll be sure to let Matt know how much you enjoyed your time with him at the market. I hope you discovered some of the hidden gems Seattle has to offer and found a couple fun new spots to revisit! Cheers, Inah.

Nice variety of stops and chocolate delights, including some truly spectacular confections. Chocoholics will not be disappointed. Hi Randal, That's what we love to hear! As a chocoholic myself, this tour always tempts me and is definitely high on my list of things to try. I'm glad it lives up to expectations! Great experience, very knowledgeable guide and his assistant and the tour was just the right amount of walking so it was not tough in Seattle weather.
Also loved all the historic facts my guide told besides the chocolate information. Absolutely loved that the tour involved chocolate factory at the Pike market. Hi Iryna, That's so good to hear! Can't go wrong with chocolate in a fun city right? I appreciate your feedback regarding the drinks and I'll happily pass that feedback on to the guides.
This was such a fun and different way to spend our morning in Woodinville! I was surprised that all of the participants were adults and everyone was so willing to accept the challenge. The guides were really good at helping to make the course easier or more challenging depending on what you needed and wanted.
We had a great time! Thanks for the great review. It is an awesome experience, almost like an adult playground. I'm glad to hear you all enjoyed it! Great fun! The guides were awesome! Thanks for the review! Glad to hear you all had fun. I'll let your guides know. Enjoy your week! JB was an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, entertaining guide for the tour, which took us past several iconic locations in downtown Seattle.
The chocolates and desserts were all delicious, but they were a little too generous, so we needed a little bag by the end. Despite being fairly familiar with the area, the tour introduced me to a many new locations and some history. Highly recommend, bring some walking shoes and water. Thank you for your thoughtful review! I'm happy to hear you had such a great time, and that you were able to take some treats home to remember the experience by. A little extra chocolate never hurts, right? I know our guides pride themselves on their ability to introduce new things to locals especially, so I'll make sure to pass on your compliments.
It was a really experience to learn the basics of sailing with my girlfriend. The captain was really knowledgable and cool. We had a great time.
There were some thrilling moments when we tried to avoid the seaplanes :D. I would love to go for it some other time. Kat was an amazing tour guide. She know a lot about the history and built strong relationships with a lot of the vendor. This tour was just about eating food, but learning as well. I would definitely recommend my family and friends. Great tour! Delicious food, skipped the long lines, interesting history. Highly recommend it! So much fun! We learned a lot and laughed a lot!
Our tour guide Nick was the best! We learned about chocolate and a lot about Seattle as we walked around! It was a blast and my husband and I got a lot more out of the experience then we ever expected. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that this cruise actually covers much more than just Lake Union! The Argossy boat also went all the way to Lake Washington with occasional non-intrusive narration offering tidbits of waterfront info that was even new to us Seattle residents. Will was a fantastic guide. He was very knowledgeable about everything! We are locals, but received this tour opportunity as a wedding gift through our Zola registry.
As chocolate lovers and avid chocolate partakers, we were excited to explore some of Seattle's chocolate offerings. We were not disappointed! Our tour was not only diverse in chocolate types including dark, milk, and white chocolate , it was also diverse in form, with ice creams, pies, bark, bars, sipping chocolate, cupcakes, and beans!

Intertwined throughout the tour, our tour guide Kenna gave us highlights of the history of chocolate and the history of chocolate in Seattle, which added depth to the entire experience and was really interesting! Kenna's enthusiasm and knowledge, relationship with the places we visited, and general interest in chocolate really made the two hours even more worthwhile.
She also remembered everyone's name in our tour group there were 12 people and she only asked everyone's name once and kept the young kids entertained and engaged throughout. If you are a chocolate lover, chocolate enthusiast, or casual partaker, check this tour out, especially since Seattle has a lot to offer and this gives just a glimpse into the rich options available so it's great for locals too! Informative and interesting as well as fabulous samples! Very pleasant, relaxing learning experience on Lake Union. Instructor was very good at teaching basic sailing skills.
Took my son while he was in town. Spencer was an awesome guide! Don't miss this wonderful Argosy Cruise through the Ballard Locks.
Even in rainy weather there is indoor seating , this cruise would be interesting. Pick up the ship at Pier 55, head north and prepare for a one of kind experience going through the locks into Lake Union. Lots to see in Lake Union, maybe even a giant cow Dairy Association on a barge! You aren't required to take the bus back to Pier 55 and we opted to walk the 1.
Cam was a great tour guide on board. There are snacks, beverages and clean bathrooms. Wonderful experience! Was fun, a bit overwhelming, but that was more my fault. Great tour, Amanda was a great guide and we loved it!! The tour guide worked hard to try to make the experience good even though it was pouring rain. The food was generally good. Hi Frances, I'm so sorry that the weather did not cooperate for your tour!
I'm glad you were still able to have a good time, and I hope you had the opportunity to taste some yummy food! Best, Jennifer. My boyfriend and I had a great time on our boat experience. There were only the two of us and the captain, and because we went in January, there were practically no other boats on the lake.
The captain provided us with blankets and heating pads, and we had a fantastic experience. That had to have been really nice to have the cruise and the water to yourselves. Hopefully you were able to see a pretty sunset. Let me know when you're ready to get back out on the water. Best, Brooke. Loved our food tour!

Enjoyed the variety of foods and will definitely revisit some. Easy to book experiences thru Cloud 9 Living, almost anything one can think of -- big thanks to them! Our tour guide was extremely informative and friendly and caring all of the participants. Also it was awesome that I could try some of the most delicious foods without standing in a line. I would definitely participate in this tour again in the future and recommend this tour to others without doubt.
Thumbs up. Mark was great! He was fun and knowledgeable and worked to make sure everyone felt included. Mark was personable and did a great job of sharing his knowledge. He was always aware of everyone in the group and did a fantastic job of keeping everyone engaged. Nice job, Mark! Other then the 45 minute wait for the other flyers to arrive, it was a blast.
Our instructor Josh was very knowledgeable and made the experience very fun. We will be doing this again in the future.
Thank you! I've been living in Seattle for almost 2 years, and after that food tour, I felt there's still so much to go and see. I would like to thank Justin, the tour guide. Awesome and highly recommend tour. Had the most amazing time. This was a gift and we enjoyed every minute of it. Our guide Nick was the best, so friendly and very informative. Would love to do another one of your tours. I recommended this one to all my friends.
Thanks for a great time. The booking process was so easy, even though I was using 3 individual gift certificates. The agent that helped us combined them into one reservation for 6, which made it very easy when we checked in for the tour. Also I had a followup question and Cloud 9 Living was very responsive via email also. I couldn't be happier with the entire booking process. The food tour itself was very enjoyable! It actually exceeded my expectations as I had never before been on a food tour. We are looking forward to booking more tours with the group.
Our guide, Patrick, was very knowledgeable about the places we visited. He also shared stories about his family visiting these restaurants as well. This can also be made ahead of time, but be sure to bring it out of the fridge for an hour to soften before serving. Easy chocolate mousse for two. Pressing caramel hearts into a pan of brownies is such an easy way to elevate regular brownies! Just try not to fight your partner over the brownies with the oozing caramel!
Caramel brownies. I happen to think that cookie bars are loads easier to make than actual cookies. Sugar Cookie Bars. Instead of making dessert, what about drinking your dessert?! This rich Nutella martini has a Nutella rim with crushed raspberries, vodka, and Chambord. I like to float a few fresh raspberries in it, too. Nutella Raspberry Martini. Pile chocolate chips in a cast iron skillet, top with marshmallows, broil until golden brown, and use graham crackers to scoop it all up! The extra sprinkle of salt on top is too good! Sometimes, simple is best.
Like a store-bought frozen chocolate waffle stuffed with ice cream and dipped in chocolate. Optional roll in crushed freeze-dried raspberries, of course. Waffle Ice Cream Sandwiches. This is my go-to easy dessert. If you can use a handheld mixer and whisk this all together in 5 minutes, you have the best, creamy cheesecake for two! If you press regular chocolate chip cookie dough into two mini cast iron skillets, bake it, and top it with ice cream and chocolate sauce, you have something worth sharing with Cupid.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundaes. Because sometimes, simple is best. Admittedly, the hardest part about this recipe is finding dried rose petals for sprinkling on top. White Chocolate Rose Chocolate Bark. Truffles are deceptively simple: just heat, stir, chill and roll! Easy romantic desserts are too fun! I hope these easy romantic desserts make it on your table!
